Stephan A. Timchula has been practicing in Carroll County for over 30 years, handling family law matters, criminal cases, traffic violations, workers’ compensation and personal injury claims, wills and estate-planning, and general civil litigation. He has handled cases in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area, in addition to other locations throughout the State of Maryland; in Circuit and District Courts and in Administrative Proceedings. In 1997 he was appointed to the Settlement Master Program, and presently serves as a Settlement Officer for the Circuit Court for Carroll County. Mr. Timchula is a Past-President of the Carroll County Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors for several years. He has completed the 40-Hour Basic Mediation Training, which authorizes him to serve as a Mediator.
Mr. Timchula was active in Youth Sports Programs in Finksburg and Sykesville while raising his four children, and served on the Board of Directors of the Sykesville Baseball Program until 2001. A 1980 graduate of Western Maryland College in Westminster, he obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1983. While at WMC he participated in the ROTC Program, being awarded the Cadet of the Year in his freshman year. He was in the Army National Guard in 1977 and received an Honorable Discharge. He is a Member of Elks # 2277 of Westminster and the Professional Football Ultimate Fans Association.
He is presently a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Carroll County Bar Association, including the Family Law Committee.
